I've gotten tired of my blog looking stale, so I used a generic template. It's quick and easy. I have no real news to update right now. I mean I do, but I don't feel like doing it now.
The end.

tennis tourney experience to-date
Played with Brittany on May 15th and lost to a 6.0 team 6-0, 6-0. May 16th lost 6-1, 6-0. Won our first ever game. Considering it was our first tourney and we were bumped up from 5.0 to 6.0, not bad at all.
Played with Brittany again in the SPAM Slam June 5-7. Lost first day, but played exceptionally well. First set we lost 6-2. Won the 2nd set 6-4 (our first ever set we won), but lost the tie-break 10-2.
Saturday we lost, but fought hard and went to a tie-break as a result. Lost that 2-7 in the first set. Lost 2nd set 6-0.
Sunday we lost 6-3, 6-0. Again, met some very nice people and had fun. Need to practice, get rid of nerves/get more confident, and get a grip on the mental game.
I've come a long way since September, but I have so much more to go and gobs of potential.
Now, if my stupid guts would heal up so I can get back into my routine. Yep, they're acting up again due to something I ate.

embrace technology and save cash doing so
I have done some thinking fiscally in the past few weeks. One thing I have not only contemplated, but executed as well is reducing the overall cost of my cable bill. Here are some facts:
1. It is expensive to subscribe to cable.
2. If one has an HDTV, one can probably get HD for free via a digital antenna.
3. In order to cut cable out of one's life, one will have to make an initial purchase, but once one does that, then that's it- no more monthly bills.
4. There are websites out there that allows one to watch some, most, or possibly all of one's favorite TV shows and it's legal and free.
I had subscribed to digital cable for the past year I have lived in Fayetteville and it was $132/mo. That is over $1,580 I have given them. Once I realized that, I decided enough is enough and decided to make a positive decision for me and now I decide where that money goes. Sure, I have to keep them around for Internet, but I now control how little I will pay them to watch TV. As of now I am only paying for basic cable, but that is a far cry from what I was forking over to them. However, this is only temporary. Once I do more research on digital antennas (average cost is between $40-$50), I will once and forever do away with cable TV.
My local provider tried to claim that their HDTV channels are free. Well, they really are not. One has to not only get the digital converter box, but one also has to subscribe to the digital tier in order to obtain the "free" HD channels. And, it is expensive, hence why I have made the decision to do away with it. Sure, I won't get some HD channels, but I will get the one I watch the most and that would be Fox. Any other channels I can find online for free.
This is short, but something to think about until I post more info at a later date.
